Bloggers Become the New Fashion Reporters at New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week: the epitome of impeccable style for men and women around the world. The one week where a wave of celebrities, photographers, models, and bloggers all gather and crowd the streets of the city that never sleeps. From the fashion shows to the after-party’s, NYFW is the hottest place to be and only the most stylish and well-connected get a ticket.

In recent years, more and more bloggers have been lucky enough to snag front row seats at the season’s hottest shows. From the most classic and renowned designers like Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren and Oscar de la Renta, to the newer, yet highly sought after designers like Brandon Maxwell, Monse and Kanye’s Yeezy collection, bloggers have become the best marketing tool for brands wanting to reach a larger fashion-savvy audience. And now, with all the tools available to readily share looks fresh off the runway, bloggers are now claiming front and center.

Fashion, beauty, and lifestyle bloggers are fully taking advantage of tools such as Snapchat, Instagram, it’s newly introduced Stories, and Twitter to give followers the first on all things fashion and beauty. Not only are bloggers producing real-time content for their followers directly from the runway shows, but some are even heading behind-the-scenes to showcase the latest trends in hair and makeup as well. Speaking of makeup, how obsessed is everyone with Pat McGrath’s #Lust004 Vermillion Venom glitter, first spotted at the Atelier Versace Haute Couture Fall16 show, and recently on the DKNY SS17 runway? Even legendary model, Naomi Campbell has been seen rocking the radiant lip because—you guessed it—she endorses it.

Although the runway shows at NYFW are the main event and filled with the latest trends, you can’t forget about the designer show rooms, luncheons, red carpets and after parties that bloggers get to attend, boasting the newest designs with the most glamorous people showing you how to wear your favorite looks straight off the runway.

Thanks to more and more bloggers landing coveted spots at fashion week, we’re now able to get an inside look and real-time footage of everything going on at NYFW right at our fingertips. The fact that designers are embracing people who aren’t A-list celebrities or magazine editors, but bloggers with just as strong of an eye for fashion as anyone else to share their brand, is a marketing tool that propels this industry into a more tangible and engaging era of fashion.
