Creating Your Virtual Office

Before prospects go to your actual office (if you have one), they visit your virtual office…your website. Yep, it’s the first impression besides your physical presence or business card. This is  important, as they should truly represent your brand. They also should clearly show what you can do for them in order to turn them into paying clients. Since that is the ultimate goal, we’ve come up with 3 important tips to remember when creating a virtual office (website) or having one created for you:

Don’t make it over complex

Sure, you can create fancy web designs, but do you have to showcase it all at once? No! Keeping a more simplistic layout will guide your visitors throughout the webpage without them getting distracted on content that may not be as important.

Avoid long blocks of type.

If one wants to read more in-depth about a topic, allow that to be an option. Don’t throw it all on the front page. A user will skip over the content because most will be intimidated by the amount of text.

Test your website often.

If there are bugs, you want to know about them! Don’t wait for a viewer to make a comment about a time that they were dissatisfied with your website.

Virtual offices do exist by the way. Especially, if you’re starting out as a new business owner or simply do not want the overhead of a brick and mortar, but for the purpose of this post, we’ll call a website a virtual office.
